  • Yield: 4 servings 1x

Description

These little bites of joy are a game-changer when it comes to satisfying that sweet tooth. Using fluffy angel food cake, these churro bites provide a delightful twist on traditional churros.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 store-bought or homemade angel food cake, cut into bite-sized pieces
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 tablespoons cinnamon
  • 4 tablespoons butter, melted
  • Vegetable oil for frying

Instructions

  1. In a medium bowl, combine the granulated sugar and cinnamon. Set aside.
  2. In a large pot or deep fryer, heat the vegetable oil to 350Β°F (175Β°C).
  3. Cut the angel food cake into bite-sized pieces.
  4. Carefully add a few pieces of angel food cake at a time to the hot oil. Fry for about 2-3 minutes, flipping halfway through.
  5. Using a slotted spoon, remove the churro bites from the oil and place them on paper towels to drain excess oil.
  6. While still warm, toss the churro bites in the cinnamon sugar mixture until fully coated.
  7. Repeat the frying and coating process until all pieces are cooked and coated.
  8. Serve immediately for the best texture.

Notes

Fry in small batches to maintain oil temperature and avoid soggy bites.
